Originally part of the 2015 recruiting class, returned missionary Quinn Fabrizio has signed with the Utah Utes, who he committed to out of high school.
Pleased to announce, Quinn Fabrizio, originally a 2015 Utah football signee, is now an official Ute and enrolled in classes. #UtahNSD18 #goutes pic.twitter.com/YWLokrgJ5L

Fabrizio played at Alta in high school, and he chose Utah over offers from BYU, Washington, Washington State, and Wisconsin (Gary Andersen was the head coach at Wisconsin for Fabrizio’s recruitment). In high school, Fabrizio was 6’ 3”, 205 pounds, which is great size for a safety (and he is now listed at 6’ 4”, 206), and it will be interesting if they use him as a hybrid safety/linebacker (or in the box safety) kind of like how Chase Hansen plays. Fabrizio should be available for spring football, but I was not able to confirm that. There could be some opportunity for Fabrizio to contribute as a true freshman be it on special teams or to add depth to the secondary/linebackers. If he is available in spring football, we may get some idea of how defensive coordinator and safety coach Morgan Scalley wants to use the former Alta standout.
