We are under 100 days until the start of the college football season, and as we get closer more and more discussion topics will roll out. One of the first topics of this off season is the betting lines for the first week of the Pac-12. The Utes were not included, since they’ll open up against an FCS opponent, but other teams around the league have lines courtesy of the Bovada.
Here are the lines:
San Diego State vs Stanford
San Diego State +15
Stanford -15
My take: I take the ‘Furd all day long in this one. Stanford returns a lot of their offense, and SDSU will be replacing a stud at running back.
Oregon State vs Ohio State
Oregon State +38
Ohio State -38
My take: Ohio State, take the points, Oregon State has a looooong way to go.
Texas San Antonio vs Arizona State
Texas San Antonio +17
Arizona State -17
My take: This will be interesting. UTSA can put up points, and it will be interesting to see how the Devils come out under their new coaching staff.
UNLV vs USC
UNLV +28
USC -28
My take: The Trojans are more talented, by miles than UNLV. I’m not sure I trust Clay Helton’s team in games like this, at least to cover, but I’d probably take the Trojans and the spread.
Washington vs Auburn
Washington +2½
Auburn -2½
My take: Big early season game against the SEC for Washington. It’s a”neutral site” gme for the Huskies, but they’ll be the road team basically in this game. The question for the Dawgs will be who will they have on the outside. I’d probably take Auburn at this point.
North Carolina vs California
North Carolina +5½
California -5½
My take: Cal got UNC last season, and with it in Berkeley, I’ll take the Bears and the points.
Bowling Green vs Oregon
Bowling Green +27
Oregon -27
My take: Oregon at Autzen will roll and will cover the spread. The question is how do they look after a terrible Vegas Bowl performance?
BYU vs Arizona
BYU +15
Arizona -15
My take: Tate vs BYU’s defense... I’ll take Tate, but the Cougs will cover.
Cincinnati vs UCLA
Cincinnati +16
UCLA -16
My take: This is interesting. I’ll take Chip and the points in the opener, but just by a hair. I can’t imagine UCLA will blow out Cincinnati in this game.
