Former Utah Utes and Oregon Ducks wide receiver Darren Carrington II signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Carrington played his first three seasons (plus redshirted) at Oregon before he was dismissed from the team and subsequently transferred to Utah for his senior season. He had a career-high 70 receptions for 980 yards and six touchdowns. Injuries slowed Carrington in Utah’s final few games and hampered him at the NFL Combine. Despite some off-the-field issues at Oregon, he was a model teammate at Utah. Some concerns over previous issues and the injury likely contributed to Carrington not getting drafted. Carrington will have a shot at the NFL in Dallas, and he has the skills necessary to make the 53-man roster.
