Utah picked up a new running back recruit on Wednesday with the verbal commitment of Micah Bernard, a 5’ 10” 187 pound running back from Cerritos, CA. The three star rated running back (per 24/7 Sports) had a very nice offer list, with offers from not only almost everyone in the Mountain West, but also the likes of Oregon, Washington State and USC. There are some thoughts that he could really pick up some more offers, and maybe more stars, as the season goes along.

During his junior year, he rushed for 2411 yards, with almost 9 yards per carry. He punched the ball into the endzone for 27 touchdowns. So the dude was productive his junior year, and people are expecting him to have a great senior year.
I’m curious, once he gets to campus, how much weight he can put on, because 190 pounds isn’t a lot. This could be an interesting player to watch out for once he gets on campus. I have no doubt he’ll probably start at running back, but when Scalley sees him he has the size for a DB. We all know how Utah likes to move players around.
Watching his film, he is an elusive runner with the ability to run through tackles, which is key for any running back. He’s also very patient and very good at setting up blocks and defenders to pick up even more yards. He’s a home run type of player for sure.
