It was a quiet day up on the Hill for a Utah football media session, as the Utes had a walk through of some game day operations, so it was pretty low key. There were a couple of pretty nice quotes that came out from the coaches, namely Coach Whitt.

It’s always great to see Coach A back on campus, he just looks back at home and I can’t wait to see what he can do with the defensive line and game plan for the defense. He’s going to be a great asset moving forward, and should give Coach Whitt a great sounding board and extra eyes and ears for gameplanning.
Whittingham said this group has a special feel to it — similar to some of Utah’s most successful season. He added that it will just depend on them whether they can meet those expectations.

This is about as positive as I’ve heard Coach Whitt in the fall as I can remember. What makes that even more impressive is the fact that while this is an experienced team, it is a young team. Whitt makes a great point though, that there are some high expectations, both externally and internally and now it’s up to the team to meet those expectations.
As @Utah_Football camp wraps up, it's safe to say @UtahCoachWhitt is impressed with the 2018 squad:

I think focus is the keyword in the tweet above. It can be a long, hard season, can this team remained focused when things are tough? That’s going to be the key. Utah has lost focus in the past and dropped games they shouldn’t have.
Whittingham said there are still some positions that are being worked out, but emphasized that they’ll have a two-deep depth chart out next week — likely Monday.

No surprise here from Furlong. We are moving into game prep now, after a scrimmage tomorrrow, but we should see that two deep next week as they really jump into game prep for Weber State. I’m interested to see where things will be settled, and really who will be the No. 2s at multiple positions, such as QB and at the WR spots too.
We are just 13 days away, and I don’t know about you, but it’s like waiting for Christmas. I can’t wait.
