Alright Utah fans, it’s been a hot minute since the Utes have beat the Ducks in hoops, and it’d be fun to do the same thing that football did back in the fall. The Ducks are still finding themselves after the loss of Bol Bol. who was averaging more than 20 points per game in his short time with the Ducks. Bol has already pretty much made his intent clear to go pro after this season too, so he never made it to league play.
With the Utes, they are in some throw back unis tonight, so hopefully we see some vintage Utah basketball. It will begins with the head of the Utah attack, Sedrick Barefield. Oregon is the type of team with their length and athleticism that can slow down Sed, similar to what Washington did a couple of weeks ago. If they’re swarming him, the other guys need to pick it up, and they’ve done a nice job of that the last few weeks.
I’m interested to see if Timmy Allen also keeps rolling against this long Duck front court, and how these team may handle some pressure by Dana Altman.
Regardless, it’s nice to be back in the Huntsman Center.
