After a bye week the Utes are back to take on the Beavers in Corvallis. The Utes are looking to build off a blowout win over Washington State two weeks ago, while Oregon State is coming off a win over UCLA.
The Beavs are showing signs of life for a program which has been so bad for so long. This is a game that Utah can’t overlook, become OSU is playing with some momentum and confidence. The question for Utah is how do they play coming off a bye? Will the Utes see Zack Moss today? Coach Whitt kept teasing that they were hoping he’d be back this week. I’m really hoping the Utes offensive line takes another step forward this week, because this team will go as far as the line takes them.
On defense, the Utes need to keep Oregon State from getting chunk plays. They’re not good enough to beat Utah on long, sustained drives. Lutton is yet to throw a pick this season, and I’d love to see the Utah secondary change that today. For that to happen, I think the Utah defensive line has to create some havoc plays in the backfield.
We should see a rested Utah team today, and hopefully we don’t see some rust.
