The Utes return after a bye week to take on a streaking UCLA team, the other team in the Pac-12 South that controls their destiny. Utah’s coming off of a big win over Washington in Seattle two weeks ago, while UCLA has won three straight and have found a stride in league play.
This is a massive game for the Utes as the continue to push for a Rose Bowl, and they can’t overlook the Bruins. On offense, the Utes need to play clean. That means no turnovers and no drive killing penalties. A game like this is on the shoulders of the offensive line. If the Utes can get solid line play today, the Utes should be able to move the ball up and down the field. Huntley should be able to work against the Bruins, but he needs to have a clean jersey.
On defense, it’s all about stopping the UCLA running game. If the Utes put this game on DTR’s shoulders, then they should be able to get some separation. The Utes do need to be careful on the QB run game, as DTR can really beat you with his legs, so the Utes need to be careful.
