The 7-1 Utes take on the 5-3 Washington Huskies in Seattle today, in a giant day of football in the Pac-12. The Utes are chasing down some big dreams, as they find themselves in the middle of some fun conversations, and bowl aspirations are all over the map. First off, the Utes need to take care of business against a very tough and talented Washington team on the road. The Huskies are coming off of a loss to Oregon two weeks ago, and had a bye last week. UW has had Utah’s number, and this is going to be one heck of a hill to climb for the Utes. Jacob Eason, the Huskie QB, is a big, strong armed talent, so the Utes need to do everything they can to make him uncomfortable. This is a giant day for Morgan Scalley and crew.
On the to other side of the ball, the offensive staff is going to have to keep the train rolling against a very good defense, that is so well coached. This is not as stout of a UW defense as we’ve seen in the past, but if you make a mistake they’ll make you pay, so Utah has to play clean and smart. Tyler Huntley should be closer to 100% and hopefully have more mobility back to make the offense more lethal with his ability to move.
Utah coaches and players have no doubt had this game circled after losing to UW twice last year, in heartbreaking fashion. This Utah team is pretty healthy, so they should be all go versus a rested Huskies team, but it’s going to require one of their best efforts of the season to get this win.
Not to mention, all Utah fans are rooting for the Ducks to beat USC in LA later tonight... it’s a huge day, as the Pac-12 is hoping for two 11-1 teams to meet in the conference title game.
