How to watch Utah take on Oregon State + Open Game Thread

NCAA Basketball: Oregon at Utah Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

GAME 21: Utah (11-9, 5-3) vs. Oregon State (13-7, 5-3)

WHERE: Salt Lake Ctiy, Utah (Jon M. Huntsman Center)

WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019

TIP-OFF: 3 p.m. MT

TELEVISION: Pac-12 Networks / Pac-12 LIVE

Today is a big test for the Utes to see if they rebound from a disastrous performance against Oregon just two nights ago. From throwing away a 14 point lead, to having 19 turnovers, it was just an ugly performance to watch. Oregon State is coming off a win over CU in Boulder, and they got guys that have been there for what seems to be 13 years with Tres Tinkle and others. Tinkle is the head of the snake for OSU, averaging 20 points per game. If Utah can limit him, they’ll find themselves in a good spot.

On offense, Sedrick Barefield needs to have a bounce back game, after struggling against Oregon’s length and pressure. Every time he touched the ball against the Ducks there were more guys coming at him. Timmy Allen played well against Oregon, and needs to keep it up against OSU, and the team can’t forget about Donnie Tillman, who went MIA in the Oregon game after lighting them up early on.

Check out the scout from the office release below, and let’s get the dub.

Oregon State, who opened up its Mountain-swing road trip with a 76-74 win at Colorado on Thursday, heads into the weekend with a 13-7 overall record and a 5-3 mark in Pac-12 play ... just as Oregon did, the Beavers split its match-ups last weekend, downing Washington State (90-77), but then falling to Washington (79-69) at home ... despite having dropped three of the past five, OSU did manage to open Pac-12 play with three consecutive wins (at Oregon, vs. USC, vs. UCLA) ... OSU shoots .469 from the field, .329 from three-point range and .732 from the charity stripe ... Tres Tinkle leads the team averaging 20.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game ... he is netting 20.9 points per game in eight Pac-12 games so far ... Kylor Kelly ranks first on the team, first in the Pac-12 and second in the nation with 71 blocked shots (3.68/game) ... his blocked shots, coupled with a pair of players having posted double-digit blocks, gives OSU 109 total blocks on the year, which ranks 12th in the nation ... the team’s 5.6 blocked shots per game ranks 8th in the nation.
