Utah Gets Two Commits on Eve of National Signing Day

Four-star JUCO offensive tackle Bamidele Olaseni and three-star defensive back Drew Rawls both announced their commitments to the Utah Utes football team this evening, on the eve of National Signing Day.

Olaseni, who is 6’ 9” and over 330 pounds, should compete for the starting job at left tackle for the Utes in 2019. The spot is open with the graduation of Jackson Barton. Olaseni played for Garden City Community College and originally hails from London, England. Olaseni had his pick of schools with offers from the Auburn Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kansas State Wildcats, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, and Texas Longhorns. Not only does he have exceptional size, he has great feet and technique as well, making him one of the most coveted junior college recruits in the country (he ranked No. 9 overall among JUCO prospects).

Rawls, out of West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas, is one of the under the radar recruits that Utah always gets. While Utah was his only Power Five offer, Morgan Scalley has an eye for Texas defensive backs. He is 6’ 2”, 185 and is likely being recruited as a safety. He is an underrated recruit that is the type that often shines at Utah, and I fully expect to outperform his ranking.
