The Utes successfully landed one their top recruiting targets of the 2019 class, signing 6’8” offensive tackle, Bamidele Olaseni on Wednesday. The JUCO transfer from Garden City Community College in Kansas held offers from blue chip programs including Auburn, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Nebraska among others before committing to Utah.
At 330 lbs, Olaseni’s frame makes him an almost immovable object on the offensive line, demonstrating solid footwork and balance against opposing lineman. With the departure of left tackle, Jackson Barton, it’s easy to imagine Olaseni stepping into the vacant spot from day one.
Originally hailing from London, England, Olaseni is a product of the London Blitz, an American-style football program operating overseas. He enrolled at GCC last season after the Broncobusters claimed their first junior college national title, and was part of a 10 win team in 2018, losing to East Mississippi in the 2018 championship, earning NJCAA All-American honors in the process.
