Utah at USC Open Game Thread

NCAA Basketball: Oregon at Utah Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been one heck of a day with National Signing Day and the run the Utes went on there, plus NBA trade twitter which has went into high gear. Now we turn our attention to the Utes, who are in a funk after getting swept by the Oregon schools at home a week ago. They find themselves in Southern California to take on USC, hoping to right the ship before they lose ground in the race for a first round bye in the conference tournament.

They’re going to have to figure out some things, namely turnovers (as always with this team), and how to get the offense rolling again. Oregon’s press caused havoc, and then OSU’s man helped keep Utah off the three point line, where they hang some much of their offensive hat. Timmy Allen is rolling, so they need to keep that up, but Sedrick Barefield has hit a bit of a wall, and Donnie Tillman has as well. We also need to see some of the other guys play better too, including Parker Van Dyke.

Utah’s not out of the race by any means, because the league is down, but if they keep turning in sloppy performances, they will be struggling to find a post season home.

Join us as the Utes take on USC and see if they can get back on the winning track.
