Bingham High defensive tackle, Simote Pepa has submitted his letter of intent to Utah. At 6’3”, 320 lbs, Pepa is one of the top in-state recruits to sign with the Utes, turning down offers from Wisconsin, Washington, UCLA, and BYU among others.
In his senior year, Pepa managed two sacks and 15 total tackles with the Miners, earning himself a spot on the 2019 Polynesian Bowl roster to close out the season.
While Pepa’s raw talent is a solid addition to Utah’s 2019 class, the Utes return a lot of talent to their defensive line next season, giving the incoming freshman some time to learn and further develop behind Ute veterans.
