The Utes are coming off of a nice win against USC on Wednesday, where they played one of their more complete games of the season. The were pretty sharp on offense, didn’t turn over the ball a lot, and kept USC from really getting out in the open floor. USC did make a push late in the game, to try and rally from a 23 point deficit, but Utah kept them at arms length.
It was a balanced effort by the Utes, which is what we need to keep seeing as they push through the second half of the conference slate. Barefield got loose a bit against USC, after some struggles, and Timmy Allen continues to play really well.
UCLA is a team that has been really up and down this season, after firing Steve Alford a month or so ago. They’re just like the rest of the league, maybe minus Washington, if you don’t show up they’ll thump you pretty good, so the Utes needs to be ready.
It’s been a long layoff, with two days between games, so let’s see if Utah can match their energy and intensity that they had the previous game.
