The final home meet of the 2019 season for the Utah Red Rocks honored the four seniors: Shannon McNatt, Macey Roberts, Kari Lee, and MaKenna Merrell-Giles in Utah’s 197.975-197.350 win over Michigan. MyKayla Skinner won the all-around with a 39.700.
The Red Rocks started the meet off with 49.500 on vault, which ties their season high on the event. Utah was led by 9.950s from Skinner and Merrell-Giles and a 9.925 from Lee. Michigan posted a 49.200 on bars to start the meet, with a 9.925 from Olivia Karas.
The Red Rocks continued their strong meet with a 49.450 on bars to give them a 98.950-98.525 halfway through the meet. A trio of 9.925s from Missy Reinstadtler, Merrell-Giles, and Skinner led the Red Rocks. Michigan scored a 49.325 on vault with 9.900s from Maddie Mariani and Emma McLean.
Utah started off beam with a bang with back-to-back 9.900s from Lee and Alexia Burch to lead Utah to a 49.350 on beam and a 148.300-147.950 lead through three events. Michigan had a great floor routine with a 49.475, led by a 9.925 from Karas and 9.900s from Madison Osman and Natalie Wojcik.
Roberts led off Utah’s floor set with a 9.925 in her final routine at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. Next up was Lee, also in her final routine with another 9.925. Adrienne Randall posted a 9.850 on floor, followed by another 9.925 from Sydney Soloski. Merrell-Giles, the final senior to compete on floor for Utah, scored a 9.925 like her two fellow seniors Lee and Roberts. Skinner capped Utah’s season-high 49.675 floor set with a 9.975. Utah capped the meet with a season-high 197.975 to beat Michigan.
