We now have seen every team in the Pac-12 play one game. Our power rankings did not change much between last week and this week. Most of us have the Utah Utes atop the Pac-12 rankings, though a few of us have the reigning Pac-12 Champions the Washington Huskies at the top. With only one game and vastly different qualities of opponents so far, I imagine we will see a lot of fluctuation in rankings over the next few weeks. More conference games will help clarify the rankings as well.
The Utes got a convincing 30-12 win on the road at the BYU Cougars. Washington quarterback Jacob Eason looked great against Eastern Washington after sitting for almost two years after starting as a freshman at the Georgia Bulldogs. The Oregon Ducks led for most of the game against the Auburn Tigers before blowing the lead at the end. The only Power Five win for a Pac-12 team in week one was the Stanford Cardinal over the Northwestern Wildcats, but they lost quarterback KJ Costello for at least one game. The USC Trojans will be without JT Daniels for the remainder of the season after he suffered a knee injury in their week one win over the Fresno State Bulldogs. Losses by the UCLA Bruins and Oregon State Beavers have them low in our power rankings.
