How to watch Utah take on Northern Illinois

NCAA Football: Utah at Brigham Young Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

The Utes are taking the field at Rice-Eccles for the first time in the 2019 season against NIU, and will try to get to 2-0 on the season. After a big win on the road a week ago against BYU, the focus for Utah the next two weeks is continual improvement as they get into Pac-12 play. NIU is going to be a scrappy opponent, but if the Utes go into the game with focus, they’ll walk away with the win.

NIU is going to be a bit of a mystery with a new coaching staff, and some retooled players. It’s going to be key for Utah to get on top of them early so the defense can pin their ears back, and so the offense can work on some other elements of the offense. I know fans would like to see some more explosion from the wide receivers, and I think we’ll see some opportunities for that tomorrow afternoon. And of course, one of the biggest key to any of these games is to get in and out of it as clean as possible, so ideally all the main starters can be sat by the middle of the 3rd quarter. This will be a solid test, and should help the Utes to continue to tighten things up.

If you are unable to make it to the game, here’s how you can check it out.
