Utah Football to End Season after WSU Game

NCAA Football: Utah at Colorado Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Utes football team announced that it will not participate in a bowl game if they qualify for one with a win against the Washington State Cougars. This decision makes a lot of sense given comments from players like Britain Covey after the win last weekend over the Colorado Buffaloes. With all of the testing protocols, quarantines, and time away from family and friends, the players are exhausted. The 2020 season will go down as a weird one in the history books. The fact Utah was able to play any games should be seen as a win. Utah was the last team to take the field in 2020 after a COVID outbreak caused Utah to miss their games against the Arizona Wildcats and UCLA Bruins. Once the Washington State game is done and the 2020 season is in the book, we will take a look back on the season, maybe think about what could have been had Utah played all six regular season games, and look ahead to 2021 where the future is bright for the Utes.
