The Utes are living in the transfer portal as they continue to build their roster for a championship run in 2021. They’ve added running back, a quarterback, some defenders, and a wide receiver. They added two players in one night with Oklahoma transfer (and former UCLA wide receiver) Theo Howard, and Washington linebacker Josh Clavert. Howard played in 34 games in four seasons at UCLA and had 119 receptions for 1,459 yards and nine touchdowns. He only had one season at Oklahoma, the 2020 season, and he finished with 13 receptions for 163 yards with no touchdowns.
Calvert joins his brother Ethan, a 2021 signee, on the team. Calvert was a Utah target coming out of high school, and he tore his ACL in 2019 and didn’t play in 2020. Calvert and Howard join the collection of four-star recruits to transfer to Utah this off-season.
Coach Whittingham said some receivers would be added to the team from the portal, and this is the first with Howard, and I expect to see at least another one come on board.
