Utah football picks up a USC WR transfer

NCAA Football: Pac-12 Media Day Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Whittingham and crew continue to make a living in the transfer portal as they bolster talent and depth on this talented roster. In addition, another wide receiver has joined the team, with USC wide receiver Munir McClain announcing he’s coming to SLC.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound redshirt sophomore has the measurables you like to see from a wideout and fits that USC mold that has given the Utes fits. The former three-star recruit was suspended for the 2020 season, but there was no reason made public. During his true freshman season, he caught three passes for 19 yards before ending his season with a knee injury.

Coach Whitt said after spring ball that they were going to target wide receivers and this is the second they have grabbed in the last handful of weeks. This is also the second former Southern California receiver that the Utes have grabbed after former Bruin Theo Howard joined the Utes after a season with Oklahoma.
