We finally know when the Utah football season will kick off against Weber State at Rice-Eccles. The 2021 season will begin at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 2nd, on Pac-12 Networks. This is the first of six home games in what should be a full, normal college football season.
Weber State is a perennial power in the FCS, and their spring 2021 season ended in disappointment; and they’ll be looking to build off of that now in the fall. The Big Sky, and many other FCS leagues, decided to postpone this past season to the spring to try and avoid COVID concerns. It will be interesting to see how/if that affects this upcoming season at all.
The Utes are coming into this season with momentum and have some big aspirations. This will be the first game in front of the newly expanded Rice-Eccles Stadium and 51,000 fans in attendance.
