Utah football has announced the signing of Joseph Williams, a Rivals two-star running back from ASA College in Brooklyn, N.Y. The 5' 11", 205 pound running back was recruited by assistant head coach and running backs coach Dennis Erickson. He is a bigger back with good speed just like current Utah running back Devontae Booker. WIlliams could provide a nice compliment to Booker next season then help mitigate the loss of Booker in the 2016 season.
Williams is looking for a second chance at Utah. He originally committed to UConn out of high school, but he was kicked out before his sophomore season because he was arrested. With the strong family presence of the Utah football program, Williams should be able to stay on the straight and narrow in his second chance.
Despite playing in the largest city in the United States, Williams went unnoticed and was only offered by Utah. Utah has a knack (especially when Erickson recruits them) of finding quality, under-the-radar junior college players.
