OL James Empey to join Utes after LDS Mission

James Empey, a composite 24/7 three-star offensive guard from American Fork High School in American Fork, Utah, will attend an LDS mission and join the Utes in the 2017 class. The 6-foot-4, 270 pound recruit adds to the offensive line depth, but on the interior of the line at the guard position.

Empey was a recruit of Jim Harding, Utah's o-line coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator. Harding has proven to be one of the most liked coaches on the staff by players, and has been proving himself as one of the better recruiters as well.

The Utes continue their assault on taking legacy kids from BYU families, as James Dad, Mike, played down in Provo. It seems Kyle Whittingham has the buy in of former Cougars better than the current Cougar head coach.

James Empey had many offers from the likes of Oregon State, Washington State, BYU, Utah State, Washington and Boise State.

Welcome to the Utah family, James!
