Utah Football Signs ATH Demari Simpkins

The Florida pipeline has been kind for the Utes, and that remains the same with the addition of Demari Simpkins from Hallandale High School, one of three possible recruits coming from the same hit school, including Tyler Huntley and Zack Moss (possibly).

The three star composite 247sports recruit measures at 6-feet and 176 pounds, with a 40 of about 4.4. Simpkins is primarily a wide receiver, although he is listed as an athlete, which means there's a shot he could end up on defense, but is likely a wide receiver. Utah has been looking to upgrade the wide outs since joining the conference, and Simpkins will definitely help.

In his film it looks like Simpkins can play special teams, and handle kick off return duties, which is always a key attribute when you come to Utah. It'll be interesting if Simpkins is a candidate to fill in for Britain Covey, with Covey going to Chile for his LDS Mission this year.

Simpkins is already on campus as an early enrollee, along with fellow Hallandale star Huntley, and will be ready to compete in spring practices.
