Kurtis Taufa's long trek to the U finally comes to an end as he signed his letter of intent with the Utes today. Taufa actually committed to the Utes last February and flipped his commitment to Kansas in July. Of course, Kansas was beyond awful this year, and he recommitted to the Utes in October.
Taufa, a 6' 2", 230 pound composite three star rated linebacker by 247sports, is a transfer from Snow College, where he found himself after graduating from Lone Peak. No doubt, as a JC player, the Utes are expecting Taufa to step onto campus and contribute almost immediately.
With the loss of the three starting linebackers from last season, linebacker was a priority for the Utes this year, thus making Taufa a big get for the Utes. In his film he has the ability to track a play and make a play on the ball, and has very good instincts.
