Utah Football Signs P Mitch Wishnowsky

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! The Utes have went back to the well that gave us Tom Hackett, you know, the two-time Ray Guy Award winner and all around bacon kicking badass? Mitch Wishnowsky will have to fill the massive shoes left by Hackett, both on the field and in the quote making department. Wishnowsky is a bigger dude, especially for a punter, standing at 6' 3" and 225 pounds, so he could probably mow a guy over on a fake punt if needed.

Wishnowsky placed 30 of his 63 total punts inside the 20-yard line as a freshman at Santa Barbara Community College in 2014 with an average of 39.8 yards per punt, and a long of 77 yards. He was on the reserves for Perth in the West Australian Football League in 2012, which is where many of the Aussies get their kicking ability. One big question that he will have to answer is how versatile he is as a punter. Can he do rugby style and regular stand still punting? That's something that made Hackett so dangerous.

Wishnowsky didn't play football in 2015, and reports are it was to wait until he got on campus at the U to resume his kicking duties. Wishnowsky is now on campus, and will show fans what he has in the spring.
