Utah has announced the signing of defensive end Semisi Lauaki from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale California. Lauaki has a three star composite rating by 247 Sports. Lauaki has a godd frame for a defensive end at 6-4 240 lbs. and coaches really like his potential to develop.
Lauaki finished his senior season with 41 tackles, two sacks, and five tackles for a loss. He also played tight end in high school but projects to play on the defensive side of the ball at the collegiate level. Lauaki's high school, Leuzinger, has a history of producing great Utes, with former Utah point guard Delon Wright also being a graduate.
Lauaki is a sign and send recruit, so he will not have an immediate impact. He will have time on his mission to develop a bit physically and can hopefully come back in a few years to carry on the great tradition of Utah defensive lineman.
