Since committing to Utah in June, Long Beach Poly HS (Long Beach, Calif.) athlete Davir Hamilton has been the definition of a Utah man. He has tried to help recruit other players to Utah and has been 100% committed. At 6-3, 202 (Nike SPARQ verified), Hamilton could play several different positions for Utah: wide receiver, outside linebacker, or maybe an in-the-box safety like Tevin Carter. He was rated a three-star athlete by the 247Sports Composite ranking.
Hamilton is is great at rushing the passer. He is also dangerous with the ball in his hands. It seems likely he will start out on the defensive side of the ball. If he plays linebacker, he will need to add weight, and he has a frame that could easily add some good weight.
Hamilton committed to Utah before the start of his senior year and never wavered, but he still picked up some good offers. Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon State, UCLA, and Washington State all offered him. His primary recruiter at Utah was cornerbacks coach Sharrieff Shah.
