DE Fua Pututau will Join Utah Football after LDS Mission

All-region Cottonwood HS (Salt Lake City, Utah) defensive end Fua Pututau, who just committed to Utah today over BYU and Colorado, will join the Utah football team after serving a two-year LDS mission. Pututau is a nice in-state get for Utah. He, along with Leki Fotu, are two in-state defensive end commits for Utah. In addition to Utah, BYU, and Colorado, Pututau also had offers from Boise State, Oregon State, Utah State, Washington, and Washington State. His primary recruiter was Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley.

Pututau is a nice edge rusher who can play outside linebacker and defensive end (he will likely end up at defensive end in Utah's scheme). He will have two years to add some weight to his 6-3, 231 frame. Ideally, he should add about 20 pounds of good weight to play defensive end for Utah. He fits what Utah looks for in a defensive end. His older brother, Howard Pututau, is also a Utah signee who is on a mission.
