Which Runnin' Utes Belong on Utah Basketball's Mount Rushmore?

With over 100 years of basketball excellence up on The Hill, who makes the cut for the Utah basketball Mount Rushmore?

With over 100 years of basketball, the no. 15 winningest program in NCAA history, 32 conference championships, 27 NCAA tournament appearances, 41 NBA draft picks, and many individual award winners and All America selections, Utah basketball has a long and storied basketball tradition. When it comes down to naming the top four names in Utah basketball history and putting them on a Mount Rushmore, it's challenging to say the least. We put together our pantheon and discussed them all on this episode of The U Fan Cast.

Here is what we came up with:

Shane's Mt Rushmore

  • Named to Utah's All Century Team

Andrew Bogut

  • No. 29 on the Utes' all-time scoring list
  • As a sophomore, averaged 20.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.8 blocks, and shot 62 percent from the field
  • No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick
  • 2005 All America
  • MWC Conference Player of the Year
  • ESPN Player of the Year
  • AP Player of the Year
  • Leading vote getter on the AP All America first team

Rick Majerus
