Former Utah State Aggie David Collette is now officially a Ute. The Utah basketball team announced today that Collette has officially joined the team, after enrolling in school at the beginning of the semester. The Collette saga has been well documented through the media, specifically with how Utah State denied releasing him from his scholarship.
Collette averaged just shy of 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks during the 2014-15 season. He comes in at 6-foot 8-inches and 220 pounds, and will add some good size to the Utah front court starting next season. With the presumed defection of Jakob Poeltl to the NBA Draft, any talented big men coming into the program is welcomed.
Here's the official presser from the basketball program.
