Utah football has officially announced the signing of Ahmad Christian, a defensive back out of Jacksonville, Fla. Christian is a one-to-play-one transfer from the South Carolina Gamecocks. As a sophomore in 2013, he had eight tackles, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble. In the 2012 season, Christian totaled eight tackles and two pass breakups.
Christian is joining a loaded secondary and is another Utes player from the state of Florida. Christian should come in and help fill the void left by Eric Rowe at corner and should lineup opposite of rising star Dominique Hatfield. He measures at 5-foot-10 inches, 190 pounds and has been clocked at 4.39 in the 40-yard dash. He is currently on campus and enrolled in classes.
Coming out of high school Christian was a three-star rated recruit across all recruiting sites (Rivals, Scout, 24/7). He had offers not only from South Carolina, but also Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss and Tennessee.
