Utah football has announced the signing of Caleb Repp, a composite 24/7 three-star athlete from Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. The 6-foot-5, 198 pound athlete could end up playing multiple positions at Utah but bulking up and playing defensive end seems most likely, just like former Ute All-American Nate Orchard. His 4.74 speed likely is not fast enough to create separation against Pac-12 defensive backs at wide receiver. His background at wide receiver could also help make him a real weapon at tight end for Utah if he stays on offense.
Repp caught 34 passes for 498 yards and five touchdowns in his senior year. He had 61 career catches for 1,000 yards, and 12 touchdowns in two years of high school varsity football.
Repp will likely redshirt to allow him time to add muscle to his frame for the college game. He chose to attend Utah over an offer from Nevada.
