ATH Chad Hekking to join Utes after LDS mission

Chad Hekking, a composite 24/7 three-star athlete from Vacaville High School in Vacaville, Calif, will attend an LDS mission and join the Utes in the 2017 class.. The 6-foot-4, 210 pound athlete is incredibly versatile. He can play quarterback, linebacker, or punter. While most of his highlights are at quarterback, it is unlikely he will play quarterback at Utah. His older brother Brock Hekking was a standout at Nevada and will likely play in the NFL. Chad will likely play linebacker but could end up on the defensive line as well depending on how he physically develops on his mission.

Hekking was one of the many players recruited to Utah by co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Jim Harding. Utah was the only school to offer Hekking a scholarship. Hekking is the kind of under-the-radar athlete that thrives at Utah. His versatility will make him a weapon for Utah at whatever position he ends up playing.
