It wasn't the best of days for Utah football in the NFL Draft, as only Devontae Booker got his name called, but other Utes will get their shots in the NFL, as eight Utes will go to NFL camps as free agents. Here are the players that will get a shot to earn a roster shot, as of now anyway:
Jason Whittingham: Oakland Raiders
Gionni Paul: Cincinnati Bengals
Siaosi Aiono: Kansas City Chiefs
Tom Hackett: New York Jets
Travis Wilson: Cincinnati Bengals
Tevin Carter: Washington Redskins
Jared Norris: Carolina Panthers
Jason Fanaika: San Francisco 49ers
When Booker fell to the 4th round, I kind of figured we wouldn't see any other Utes drafted, but I wondered if maybe Tevin Carter or someone could sneak into the 7th round. I think you'll see Paul earn a roster spot, once he proves himself (again), and the others have really good chances as well, but it will also come down to health, especially in the case of Carter. All-in-all, best of luck to our former Utes in their NFL dreams!
