Former Ute, and now Dever Bronco, Devontae Booker has put the pen to paper and signed his rookie contract with the Super Bowl 50 champions. The 4th round pick signed a four year deal worth $2.72 million with a $383,392 signing bonus (spotrac.com).
Booker signed his deal with the Broncos after participating in rookie minicamps this past week. Before Book could start his business with the Broncos, he had some business to finish in Salt Lake, as he attended his graduation from The U.
Booker is still recovering from knee surgery back in November, but should be full speed in June. Once he is fully healed, the Broncos arguably got the best running back in the Draft. His knee injury was one reason why he slid down the draft board, but our friends over in Denver were ecstatic that he fell to the 4th round. There have been some media reports that John Elway had Booker slotted for their 1st round pick if Paxton Lynch, the QB from Memphis, wasn't available.
I know Book is one of my all time favorite Utes, now he's getting his money, and if he performs like he can, a lot more will be coming.
Simmons. Booker.
